During the Techne Summit Alexandria 2026: Khalil Hassan affirms that supporting entrepreneurs is a top priority for the Digital Economy Division.

    Engineer Khalil Hassan Khalil, Head of the General Division for Digital Economy and Technology, confirmed that the Division has signed an agreement with the German Agency for International Cooperation (GIZ) in Cairo.

     

    The agreement aims to implement a project to digitize private sector companies that are members of the Federation of Egyptian Chambers of Commerce.

     

    This announcement was made during his participation in the opening of the 11th edition of the Techne Summit Alexandria, currently being held at the Bibliotheca Alexandrina and running until next Monday, under the patronage of Engineer Raafat Hindy, Minister of Communications and Information Technology.

    He added that this project falls within the regional program for digital trade and e-commerce in the Middle East and North Africa (MENA) region, which is jointly funded by the European Union and the German Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ).

     

    Khalil stated that the project aims to assist companies in adopting modern digital solutions and technologies to develop their businesses, while enhancing the efficiency of technological solutions and fostering entrepreneurship.

     

    He explained that supporting startups at the summit aligns with the Division's strategy to help companies showcase their products and solutions, connect with the investment community, entrepreneurs, and tech-sector firms, and leverage networking and partnership opportunities provided by such specialized events.

     

    He emphasized that the Division places increasing importance on startups as a key driver of digital economy growth, striving to support them across various stages of development and helping them access new opportunities within the Egyptian market and beyond.
