During its participation in Cairo ICT 2020 Orange Egypt showcases the latest smart city solutions and digital services for the education sector

    Orange Egypt, a leader in the field of integrated communications, announced its participation in the activities of the twenty-fourth session of the Cairo International Technology Exhibition, Cairo ICT 2020, which will be held from 22 to 25 November under the patronage and honor of His Excellency President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi.

    In its pavilion, Orange Egypt displayed a wide range of its latest solutions and technologies that are directed to support digital transformation processes in major technological projects in addition to digital services for small and medium-sized companies and services for individuals in several important sectors.

    During the events, Orange revealed new innovations and smart solutions that will enhance the process of digital transformation in Egypt in the fields of distance education, smart transportation and e-commerce, as well as many electronic financial services, replacing loyalty points and obtaining various communication services from Orange.

    Among the latest smart city solutions related to transportation and roads, Orange has offered ITS service that allows automation and management of traffic, smart lighting for roads and surveillance cameras equipped with the feature of recognizing faces and individuals, which is one of the main pillars that helps to raise the security efficiency of cities.

    During the exhibition, Orange also presented the services and solutions of the new administrative capital's data center, whose cost reaches 135 million dollars, and that Orange is designing, building and operating it. The new data center is one of the major technological centers in Egypt and the African continent, and it is a state-of-the-art data center distinguished by its great ability to absorb and handle data, information and insurance in Egypt and Africa. The data center will host the city operations center "all smart solutions in the new capital" in addition to helping the new administrative capital to become a cloud service provider.

    As for education, which is a fundamental pillar of the country's strategy and vision for the year 2030, Orange has offered a special system for managing distance education, through an interactive digital learning platform through which schools and universities can easily manage the resources of their educational bodies through one platform. The new system allows students to study online, communicate with their teachers, download all study materials and educational content, and allow parents to track and evaluate students' progress, and for teachers to send quizzes, study materials and training courses.

    In addition, the system can manage the school and university bus fleet, and Orange has provided special technologies to allow connection to these platforms remotely in a fast, easy and safe way, especially in remote places that are inaccessible to regular data transmission networks. Orange also provides a number of packages and subscriptions that have been specially developed to serve the educational system.

    In addition, Orange offers its latest digital services to support the educational process in cooperation with the Ministry of Education and Technical Education and Al-Mantour Company for managing educational content through a video-on-demand service. The Ministry of Education will provide educational material to students by hosting it via cloud computing provided by Orange, which is scheduled to be launched on December 1, 2020. Orange Cash will also be used as a means of payment via smart phones.

    HishamMahran, vice president of Orange Egypt for the business sector, said of his great enthusiasm to participate in the current session of Cairo ICT 2020, and said: "The current session of the Cairo International Technology Fair is crucial and important as it is being held under special circumstances and challenges as a result of the Corona pandemic, which revealed a need Countries of the world to strengthen their efforts for digital transformation and the wide dependence on advanced technology in all aspects of life. "

    He added, in Orange Egypt, we invested for many years in maximizing our technological capabilities and worked to expand in tremendous technical fields, with our awareness that the telecommunications sector is a cornerstone of deeper technical services, and we had to work diligently on this basis to reach what we are now.
