Egypt, represented by the Ministry of Communications and Information Technology, is participating in the 7th Global AI Policy Summit, organized by the Center for Law and Economics at ETH Zurich on September 29 and 30 at the university's main campus in Zurich, Switzerland.
This summit is one of the world's leading platforms for dialogue on AI policies, given its significant scientific impact and its role in fostering cooperation between various sectors and countries worldwide. The summit enjoys the support of several prestigious institutions, including UNESCO, the International Telecommunication Union (ITU), the Swiss Federal Office of Telecommunications (OET), the Canton of Zurich, and a number of leading international universities and major technology companies. For the second consecutive year, the event is being held under the auspices of the Council of Europe.
The 2025 summit featured more than 50 experts and speakers from diverse disciplines and was attended by a community of over 3,000 members from more than 100 countries around the world. This year’s edition is expected to witness wider participation and greater diversity in attendance, as it is one of the official preparatory events for the 2027 Global AI Summit in Geneva.
Egypt’s participation in this event reflects its growing commitment to contributing to the shaping of international frameworks for AI governance, in line with the ongoing efforts of the Ministry of Communications and Information Technology to support global dialogue on responsible innovation, digital transformation, and AI policies.
The summit’s activities include high-level dialogue sessions bringing together experts from governments, the private sector, civil society, and academia, in addition to panel discussions and workshops addressing key issues related to AI policies. This year’s discussions focus on three main tracks: policies that support innovation and competitiveness, policies for managing digital transformation, and preparations for the 2027 Geneva Summit.
Egypt’s participation in this international forum underscores its active role alongside policymakers, regulatory bodies, international organizations, and technology leaders in shaping the future of AI governance globally.
