The Information Technology Industry Development Agency (ITIDA) participated as a strategic partner in the 10th edition of the Techne Cairo Summit, held on September 26 and 27 as part of Middle East Innovation Week. The summit was held under the auspices of the Ministries of Communications and Information Technology, Investment and Foreign Trade, and Finance, as well as the General Division for Digital Economy and Technology at the Federation of Egyptian Chambers of Commerce.
Techne Cairo is a leading platform that provides startups with opportunities to showcase their solutions and innovations, connect with investors, and explore funding opportunities and strategic partnerships. The summit attracts over 55,000 participants, including decision-makers, business leaders, investors, and prominent figures in the technology sector, from more than 70 countries.
This year's edition featured exhibitions, competitions, sessions, and workshops, focusing on five key themes: Capital and Growth, Artificial Intelligence and Emerging Technologies, Corporate Innovation, Policies and Markets, and Creative and Heritage Industries.
During the summit, ITIDA participated in a panel discussion exploring how large corporations, startups, and public institutions can move from partnerships and pilot projects to building and scaling new products, services, and markets, and the unique role each party can play in this process.
The organization's participation also addressed the development of the technology and entrepreneurship ecosystem in Egypt, the government's role in supporting its growth, and preparations for the transformations brought about by artificial intelligence. It highlighted efforts to build the capacity of young people and equip them to meet future demands, support entrepreneurs, freelancers, innovators, and researchers, attract global companies to the Egyptian market, and explained its role in geographically expanding the entrepreneurship ecosystem from Cairo to the governorates through the "Digital Egypt Innovation Centers" and innovation and entrepreneurship support centers.
ITIDA reviewed its key performance indicators and achievements to date, including training over 33,600 young men and women and supporting more than 3,000 entrepreneurs and 1,200 startups through the Technology Innovation and Entrepreneurship Center and Egypt Digital Innovation Centers, during the first half of 2026 up to June.
