CIRA Education’s subsidiary, Starlight Educational, and the Tenth of Ramadan Company for Development and Educational Services (El Shorouk Academy) today signed a strategic partnership to launch an extension of the British Columbia Canadian International School (BCCIS), opening a new chapter for one of Shorouk City's longest-standing international schools. The agreement was formalized at a signing ceremony held at El Shorouk Academy, attended by senior leadership, board members, partners, and distinguished guests.
The new building will extend the existing BCCIS main campus, responding to growing demand and the need to expand the school’s capacity, while providing a dedicated environment for its high school community. Designed exclusively for students in Grades 10, 11, and 12, the extension will open in September 2027 for the 2027/2028 academic year, accommodating approximately 1,000 additional students across 40 modern classrooms and fully equipped educational facilities. Built on a total land area of 10,000 m², with a built-up area (BUA) of approximately 7,000 m², the new campus is designed to provide students with a comprehensive, future-focused learning environment. It will feature dedicated Applied Design, Skills and Technologies (ADST) facilities, offering specialized learning experiences in Fashion Design, Mechatronics, Entrepreneurship, Industrial Arts, and Culinary Arts, supporting students in developing practical skills, creativity, innovation, and entrepreneurial thinking alongside their academic studies.
With a presence in Shorouk spanning more than 20 years, BCCIS has built a strong reputation among families in the city for the strength of its curriculum. As one of eight schools managed by Eduhive within CIRA Education's international schools’ platform, it delivers an internationally recognized Canadian education based on the British Columbia curriculum. The program is taught entirely in English by British Columbia-certified teachers, and graduates earn the same high school diploma awarded to their peers in Canada.
Every element of the new campus has been shaped around the way senior students learn, from preparing for university applications to building the independence they will need beyond school. For the partners, it represents a long-term investment in the final and most defining years of a student's school career.

Since opening its doors in Shorouk City in 2005, the school has grown alongside the community while staying rooted in the British Columbia standards that define it. This extension is the natural next step: a campus of its own for Grades 10 to 12, with facilities built for senior coursework, not adapted for it. It also gives us a model we can build on as we bring BCCIS to more families in the years ahead, ” said Mr. Karim Mostafa, Chief Executive Officer of Eduhive and Starlight Educational.

When its doors open in September 2027, the extension will begin the next chapter in BCCIS's two-decade legacy, expanding capacity and providing dedicated facilities for its high school community.
