HE Saeed Mohammed Al Tayer meets Senior Officials at GITEX Technology Week and witnesses signing of MoUs

    HE Saeed Mohammed Al Tayer, MD & CEO of Dubai Electricity and Water Authority (DEWA) received HE Hessa bint Essa Buhumaid, Minister of Community Development. The meeting took place at DEWA’s stand at the 41st GITEX Technology Week at Dubai World Trade Centre.

     

    HE Saeed Mohammed Al Tayer, HE Hamad Obaid Al Mansouri, Chairman of Board of Directors at Mohammed bin Rashid Space Centre (MBRSC), and HE Yousuf Al Shaibani, Director-General of MBRSC, witnessed the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between Moro Hub (Data Hub Integrated Solutions LLC) and MBRSC.

     

    Mohammad Bin Sulaiman, CEO of Moro Hub and Salem Al Marri, Assistant Director General for Scientific and Technical Affairs at MBRSC, signed the MoU. The MoU aims to enhance the digital capabilities of MBRSC. It also strengthens collaboration in different digital activities to provide technical services to the Centre.

     

    HE Al Tayer, along with Marwan Bin Haidar, Executive Vice President of Innovation and the Future at DEWA; Waleed Bin Salman, Executive Vice President of Business Development and Excellence at DEWA; Khawla Al Mehairi, Executive Vice President of Strategy and Government Communication at DEWA, and some of DEWA officials from its subsidiaries toured the stands of du, owned by Emirates Integrated Telecommunications Company (EITC).

     

    His Excellency met Ahmad Abdulkarim Julfar, Board Member and Executive Managing Director at du, and Fahad Al Hassawi, Acting CEO of du. Al Tayer also visited the stand of Huawei and met Steven Yi Xiang – Territory President of Huawei ME and NA region, and Huawei team. Al Tayer visited the stand of Avaya International and met Nidal Abou Ltaif, President, Avaya International. Al Tayer also met Rishad Premji, the Executive Chairman of WIPRO.

     

    Al Tayer said that GITEX Technology Week is a perfect opportunity to shed light on Dubai’s most remarkable achievements in digital transformation to anticipate and prepare for future challenges, to enhance the UAE’s leading global position in various sectors.

    “Through Digital DEWA, DEWA reshapes the concept of utilities and the future of services and paves the way for innovations of the next decade in the utility sector.

     

    We use the latest technologies of the Fourth Industrial Revolution to develop unique experiences that enhance the happiness of all stakeholders and contribute to achieving the Dubai 10X initiative launched by His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, to upgrade Dubai Government’s services to create and implement today what other cities will be implementing a decade later.

    DEWA continues to innovate proactive solutions for the challenges over the next 50 years to achieve the vision of the wise leadership to make the UAE the world’s leading nation by its Centennial in 2071,” added Al Tayer.

    DEWA’s stand S2-J1 at Sheikh Saeed Hall received a group of senior officials from the UAE and abroad.

    The stand hosted signing several memorandums of understanding (MoUs) between DEWA’s subsidiaries and several international companies. Infra X, a DEWA subsidiary within Digital DEWA, signed an MoU with Dawiyat Integrated Telecommunications & Information Technology Company. Rashid Al Ahmadi, Chief Operating Officer of InfraX and Dr. Ahmed Sindi, the Chief Executive Officer of Dawiyat witnessed the signing. Digital X also signed an MoU with Waai Tek. Hamad Karam, Chief Operating Officer at DigitalX, and Manikandan Veloor, Waai Tek Group CEO attended the signing.

     

    Moro Hub signed an MoU with Milestone Systems, a leading provider of open platform video management software. Moro Hub also signed an MoU with Environmental Systems Research Institute (Esri), a leading geographic information system (GIS) software company.

     

    Mohammad Bin Sulaiman, CEO of Moro Hub, signed the two MoUs with Jos Beernink, EMEA Director and Acting Vice President, Milestone, and Mohamed Issa, Regional Manager - Middle East & North East Africa at Esri.

     

    DEWA’s stand includes a wide range of its prominent projects, smart initiatives and service, as well as the projects of its subsidiaries. These include the Virtual Reality Training Simulator for Distribution Network Switches and Operations, GIS Advanced Analytics & Decision-Making Apps, and the Drone Flight Hub system (Flying Eagle). The stand also showcases projects of Digital DEWA. The theme this year, is the Smart City experience, a 4D experience for visitors to experience multiple digital smart city technologies.
