FutureTECH by Raya, powered by Raya Holding, in partnership with Raya Auto, its automotive portfolio company and official distributor of XPENG, the AI mobility leader in Egypt, alongside GIZ and Entlaq,
has successfully concluded Egypt’s first specialized accelerator dedicated to advancing startups in the electric mobility sector. As the mobility arm of Raya Holding and Egypt’s first authorized electric vehicle (EV) dealer, Raya Auto is committed to fostering a sustainable transportation ecosystem in Egypt, supporting innovation, and accelerating the country’s transition toward electric mobility.
The program brought together six high-potential startups, selected from over 30 applicants, each entering with a minimum viable product (MVP) and strong potential for growth. Over a four-month journey, participating startups underwent an intensive acceleration program designed to strengthen business models, validate technologies, and prepare for market entry and investment readiness.
Through more than 60 hours of training and mentorship across 16 specialized sessions, founders received hands-on support spanning technical development, business strategy, and investment preparation. The program also integrated strong corporate and international exposure, including technical sessions delivered by EV experts from Germany, as well as exclusive site visits to Raya Auto’s factory and XPENG’s showroom and service center, providing direct insight into real-world electric mobility operations.
The program culminated in a Demo Day, where startups presented their solutions to a curated audience of investors, corporate leaders, and key ecosystem stakeholders. The event marked a significant milestone for both participating startups and Egypt’s evolving EV ecosystem, showcasing locally developed innovations ready to scale.
Following the Demo Day, two standout startups, Neo Kozmo and Watt Route, were selected to receive a fully sponsored immersion trip to China by Raya. Through Raya Auto, the Group’s mobility arm, the founders will be connected with its global partners in China, gaining direct access to one of the world’s most advanced EV markets. The experience will enable them to engage with leading industry players, explore cutting-edge technologies, and gain firsthand insights into advanced manufacturing ecosystems. The initiative aims to support the transfer and localization of global expertise within the Egyptian market, accelerating the development of the local EV ecosystem.
Highlighting the importance of the initiative, Mohamed El Naggar, CEO of Raya Auto, said: “At Raya Auto, our mission goes beyond introducing electric vehicles—we’re building a sustainable mobility ecosystem in Egypt. As the first authorized EV dealer and official distributor of XPENG, we carry a responsibility to support the next wave of innovation. That’s why our involvement in the EV Accelerator Program matters: it’s about empowering the next generation to shape the future of mobility.”
Aya Ismail Cofounder, Programs Director at Entlaq said "What we are building at Entlaq goes beyond an accelerator program; we are delivering a data-driven model that bridges the outputs of our analytical reports with the creation of real, measurable, on-the-ground impact”
She also added “This program was not born by chance — it is a direct embodiment of Entlaq’s Clean Tech report recommendations published in 2025. While Egypt's electric vehicle sector recorded a year-on-year growth of 19.5%, it still represents less than 1% of the total licensed vehicle fleet. This gap is precisely what confirmed our need for a deliberate, well-designed intervention in support of innovation.
And despite the exceptional circumstances we are navigating, the recent global energy crisis will undoubtedly accelerate the pace of this transition. Crises have always created defining opportunities — and this one significantly amplifies the urgency and importance of growing the EV sector right now.
From 30 startups that applied to the program, 6 were selected to join our integrated corporate innovation program — one that places innovators side by side with industry experts, granting real industrial validation on the ground, and opening genuine pathways for investment and strategic integration, far beyond what traditional training programs can offer."
This accelerator reflects FutureTECH by Raya’s commitment to enabling innovation through real market integration, driven by the active role of Raya Auto in supporting the growth of the electric mobility sector and advancing Egypt’s transition toward a sustainable, technology-driven economy across the region.
