talabat Egypt, the leading technology platform for e-commerce across the Middle East and North Africa, has announced its collaboration with Sonaa El Khair Foundation for Development, a member of the National Alliance for Civil Development Work, to launch a Ramadan Ma’edat Rahman aimed at providing daily Iftar meals to families in need, as part of its steadfast commitment to social responsibility during the holy month of Ramadan. The initiative supports around 500 individuals per day, contributing to enhanced food security for vulnerable groups throughout the holy month.
The initiative includes organizing a Ma’edat Rahman in Gharbeya Governorate, ensuring consistent access to regular food support for beneficiaries. The initiative is being carried out in collaboration with the teams of Sonaa El Khair Foundation and volunteers from talabat employees, ensuring the efficient distribution of meals, while reflecting the importance of this humanitarian role.
This initiative reflects talabat Egypt’s vision of creating a positive impact within the communities it serves, through initiatives that address the essential needs of underserved families, particularly during seasons in which living expenses increase. It also reinforces the values of solidarity and aligns with the state’s efforts to strengthen the social protection system.
Commenting on the initiative, Hadeer Shalaby, Vice president and Managing Director of talabat Egypt, stated: “At talabat Egypt, we believe that creating real social impact cannot be achieved through individual efforts alone, but rather through building effective partnerships that bring together the expertise of the private sector and civil society organizations. From this perspective, we are committed to leveraging our capabilities and extensive network to work hand in hand with our partners to develop initiatives that reach diverse communities and deliver tangible, sustainable impact.”
For his part, Dr. Mostafa Zamzam, Chairman of the Board of Trustees of the Sonaa El Khair Foundation for Development said” The foundation aims this year to distribute two million meals during the holy month of Ramadan in collaboration with a large number of partners, targeting families most in need across various governorates in Egypt. The organization also confirmed that a comprehensive plan had been developed in advance to ensure this goal is achieved.
He added: The foundation is proud of its ongoing collaboration with talabat Egypt, noting that this initiative marks a new chapter in the partnership—one that reinforces the values of solidarity and social support while aligning with the state’s efforts to strengthen the social protection system”.
This collaboration builds on the strategic partnership between talabat Egypt and Sonaa El Khair Foundation through “Seket Rezk” initiative, which aimed to economically empower youth from care homes by providing employment opportunities, production tools, and financial support in cooperation with Suez Canal Bank. The launch of the current Ramadan initiative reflects the continuation of this shared approach, delivering practical and sustainable solutions that meet the real needs of families most in need, not only through long-term empowerment but also through direct support during seasons of heightened social priority.
