Beko, one of Egypt's leading home appliance brands, has been named the Most Sustainable Manufacturer in Egypt for 2025 by the prestigious World Economic Magazine. This accolade, awarded by an internationally respected platform, reaffirms Beko's unwavering commitment to environmentally responsible innovation, inclusive development, and a greener industrial future in Egypt and the broader North Africa region.
The honor, presented at the 7th Annual World Economic Magazine Awards, marks a milestone in Beko Egypt's journey towards shaping the future of sustainable manufacturing. The company's efforts have positioned it as a national and regional benchmark in green innovation, circular economy practices, and community-centric growth. More importantly, this recognition reflects not only the outcomes of strategic alignment with global sustainability goals but also Beko's role in turning those commitments into tangible, measurable progress.
This achievement is no coincidence; rather, it is deeply rooted in the company's vision of "Respecting the World, Respected Worldwide," more than just a slogan; it is a guiding principle that shapes Beko's operations, culture, and innovation. With this philosophy, Beko Egypt reaffirms its mission to empower households with more innovative, greener technologies, demonstrating that sustainability and business leadership can grow hand in hand.
An embodiment of this philosophy is Beko Egypt's state-of-the-art manufacturing facility in the 10th of Ramadan City exemplifies this vision. Built with a $110 million investment and spanning 114,000 m², the site meets LEED Gold standards and integrates advanced energy-saving and waste-management systems. Beyond its technical merits, the facility has generated over 2,000 direct and indirect local job opportunities and exports more than 60% of its production, establishing Egypt as a pivotal regional hub for sustainable appliance manufacturing.
Reinforcing this achievement, Ümit Günel, General Manager of Beko Egypt and Regional Director for North Africa, said, "This recognition is a powerful affirmation of the path we've chosen, where sustainability, innovation, and social responsibility are not just priorities, but core drivers of our business strategy. From dishwashers that significantly reduce water usage to washing machines that deliver high energy savings and refrigerators that mimic natural sunlight to keep food fresher longer, each product is designed to balance performance with environmental care. Together, these practical solutions reflect Beko's belief that real sustainability begins at home, embedded in the appliances that people rely on every day.
Beyond engineering sustainability into its appliances, Beko takes pride in supporting the communities it serves. Most recently, the company partnered with Misr El Kheir Foundation during the holy month of Ramadan to support underprivileged families in Al Fashn district, Beni Suef. Under the initiative titled “Ramadan, Joy in Every Home,” Beko provided refrigerators and cookers to 50 deserving families. This initiative builds on Beko’s longstanding commitment to local communities, following a previous contribution of 50,000 food boxes distributed to vulnerable families across Egypt—demonstrating how its approach to sustainability is as much about social equity as it is about environmental progress.
All these efforts culminate in this latest recognition adds to Beko's growing list of honors, including the Athar Award for Excellence in Sustainability and Social Responsibility, which reinforces Beko’s steadfast commitment to embedding sustainability across all aspects of its operations.
