In new Initiative to Combat COVID 19 Orange Egypt Contributes to Tahya Misr Fund to Provide Medical Masks for Health Care Stuff

     Orange Egypt has announced its contribution to Tahya Misr fund as part of its continuous efforts to support the state’s efforts in combating the coronavirus where Orange supported the fund to provide medical masks to the frontline medical staff at quarantine hospitals to assist them during the vicious battle against COVID-19.

    Orange employees also participated in this noble goal out of their belief of responsibility and duty in this exceptional circumstance that the country is going through by donating to support Egypt’s white army of doctors, nurses, and health care workers, given the heroic roles and sacrifices they make to limit and central the spread of the Corona virus.

    This initiative comes as a part of the ongoing campaigns and initiatives that were launched by Orange Egypt since the outbreak of coronavirus despite of the decline in the number of new virus cases in Egypt as Orange is keen to support the State and civil society institutions’ efforts in their battle against coronavirus in cooperation with top charities.

    Orange cooperation with Tahya Misr fund is considered an important milestone especially that Tahya Masr launched a campaign which positively affected the society, under the slogan “Together, we will pass the crisis" to combat the Coronavirus.

    Additionally, Tahya Misr campaign had very good results being a fund that aims to implement national programs and projects in all fields, including the provision of health care and social support in a step aiming to push forward the economic development in Egypt.

    Commenting on this occasion, Eng. Yasser Shaker, CEO of Orange Egypt, expressed his pride in supporting Tahya Misr Fund initiative amid the coronavirus pandemic.

    Shaker also praised the amazing role played by Orange employees who always participate in the community initiatives launched by the company by offering moral and financial contributions which is a clear message of their solidarity and sense of responsibility during crises, especially supporting health care teams who work with all their energy to combat the spread of the Corona virus.

    For his part, Tamer Abdel Fattah, Executive Director of Tahya Misr Fund, appreciated Orange Egypt’s participation in the initiative aimed to address the repercussions of COVID 19.

    He also pointed out that the initiative succeeded in uniting the all efforts on both the large institutional level and the smaller individual level.

    Abdel Fattah explained that they provided 240 ventilators, 1,000 infusion pumps, 16,000 PPEs, 1 million medical masks, 50,000 N95 masks, 50,000 liters of antiseptics, 1,000 coronavirus detectors, and 50 disinfectant gates during the past three months.

    He Further revealed that 4 major humanitarian convoys were launched, providing 7,000 tons of food, 170 tons of meat, 150 tons of poultry and 160 tons of vegetables, in addition to 300,000 candy bars for more than half a million families, in cooperation with the Ministry of Social Solidarity and civil society organizations.
