Helwan University today witnessed the launch of a comprehensive suite of automated digital services in a significant event that embodies the state's commitment to accelerating digital transformation and enhancing financial inclusion within the education sector. This initiative was launched in collaboration with eFinance Group for Financial and Digital Investments, a leader in the field of financial technology in Egypt and Africa.
The event was held at the university's Arts and Culture Complex and included an introductory presentation about Helwan University and an explanatory video about the new services. This was followed by several official speeches that emphasized the importance of the partnership between the academic sector and the digital financial sector in supporting the future of university services. The event also included a panel discussion on the prospects of digital transformation in higher education.
This step comes as part of Helwan University's commitment to facilitating student life and developing an integrated digital learning environment. A unified smart application has been launched under the university's name, allowing students to stay updated on university news, obtain a digital ID card with a QR code, pay tuition fees and bills electronically, issue digital receipts, track class schedules and academic assessments, and receive immediate support and assistance.
The university's smart card, linked to the Rize application, has also been launched, offering an innovative and secure digital solution that combines university ID and financial services into a single, integrated experience.
This card aims to empower young people to manage their expenses and enhance their financial literacy from an early age by providing a versatile payment method that allows them to transfer money, shop securely online, withdraw and deposit funds via ATMs, pay bills, and top up their mobile phones, in addition to benefiting from exclusive student offers and discounts.
The card also functions as a university ID card, displaying the student's name, photo, and faculty, providing a seamless and secure experience that integrates academic and financial services. Digital Investment
Ibrahim Sarhan, Chairman and Managing Director of eFinance Group, stated, “Digital investment in the education sector is a strategic priority for us due to its importance in improving the quality of education, expanding communication, providing economic efficiency, and supporting digital transformation. We are proud today of our partnership with Helwan University in launching these pioneering digital services, which reflect our commitment to supporting Egypt’s digital transformation and promoting financial inclusion among young people. A unified student application with a smart university card represents a qualitative leap in university services and paves the way for a more innovative future.”
