The polls have closed, and the public votes are currently being counted to reveal the winner of Qatar Foundation’s edutainment show Stars of Science Season 11. The three finalists – Abdulrahman Saleh Kamis, Nuha Abu Yousef, and Youssef El Azouzi – have worked tirelessly for the past few months to perfect their inventions, but they will have to wait to hear who the public and the jury have chosen as the Arab region’s top innovator in tonight’s episode. Tune in for the live Grand Final and support your favorite innovator and invention. Abdulrahman Saleh Khamis, the Qatari engineer, wants to help young and newly converted Muslims learn how to better perform their Islamic prayers. Nuha Abu Yousef, the Jordanian Ophthalmologist, seeks to allow patients with afflicted facial muscles regain control over their affected upper and lower eyelids with her Active Lazy Eyelid Sticker. While Youssef El Azouzi, the Moroccan doctor, hopes to aid congestive heart failure patients with his Flow Modulator Stent. “In a record-breaking year, Stars of Science Season 11 proves that science has no room for error as just three contestants have reached the Grand Final,” notes Khaled Al Jumaily, the long-standing host of Stars of Science. “The competition is so close and I cannot wait to share the excitement of the crowning moment with the show’s fans!” While they will each receive a share of the $600,000 seed fund to further develop their projects, only one will be declared the winner of Stars of Science Season 11. Qatar Foundation’s Stars of Science Grand Final will air on Friday, November 8, on Qatar TV and across seven regional channels, with subtitles available for online viewing. About Stars of Science As the premier innovation show in the Arab world, Stars of Science – the edutainment TV initiative of Qatar Foundation (QF) – empowers Arab innovators to develop technological solutions for their communities, benefitting people’s health and lifestyles, and helping to preserve the environment. Over a nine-week process, the contestants demonstrate the effectiveness of their solutions in a shared innovation space, competing against time with the support of a team of experienced engineers and product developers. An expert panel of jurors assess and eliminate innovators and their projects every week across several prototyping and testing rounds, until only four finalists remain to compete for a share of $600,000 in seed funding. Jury deliberation and online voting from the public determine the rankings. Stars of Science will air every Friday on Qatar TV and every Saturday on various channels across the region, from September 13, 2019 to November 9, 2019.
