Spotify has introduced SongDNA in beta, a new immersive music experience for Premium users that reveals the intricate network of people and creative connections behind the music you love.
Every song has a story, and SongDNA helps you explore the connections shaping it – transforming passive listening into a self-directed discovery journey. Now, you can explore the collaborators behind the song, the samples and interpolations that shaped each track's sound, and browse the covers it inspired.
With SongDNA, users can:
Follow the Creative Footprints: Fans can trace the lineage between tracks and follow how different artists, eras and genres are connected.
Discover the Song’s Roots: Explore the samples and interpolations that shaped each track's sound, and browse the covers it inspired.
Dive Deeper into the Artists They Love: Tap into their favorite artists to discover the other artists they’ve worked with, then explore those collaborators in turn.
How it works:

While listening to a song in the Spotify mobile app, open the Now Playing view.

Scroll down to find the SongDNA card on supported tracks.

Tap in to see the song’s collaborators, samples, interpolations, and covers, and then follow the links to discovery.
A new dimension of discovery
SongDNA complements existing features like About the Song, offering listeners a deeper understanding of the music they love. Where About the Song helps you understand the story behind a specific track, SongDNA turns a song into an immersive, exploratory experience: a world fans can step into.
SongDNA is rolling out in beta for Premium users globally on iOS and Android mobile devices, and will become broadly available to all Premium users throughout April.
