Signify Egypt underlines leadership in lighting for the Internet of Things with new Interact platform

    Cairo, December 1, 2019 - Signify (formerly Philips Lighting), the world leader in lighting, is launching a new range of innovative products in Egypt, the company said during its participation in Cairo ICT Exhibition, to be held from December 1-4, at Egypt International Exhibition Center, under the theme “The Digital Experience”.

     

    During the exhibition, Signify launched a number of new products that incorporate lighting, communication systems and the Internet of Things (IoT), including its new and innovative IoT-enabled platform ‘Interact’. This new innovation in the field of lighting and data support services offers a wide range of key features for the connected luminaires and IoT concepts. The new connected lighting system is also a reflection of the company's strategy in providing data-driven services, enhancing the value of lighting products and systems to make them more useful, and providing lighting that makes cities smarter, more efficient and easier to manage and plan at the lowest cost. Through the new technology, Signify Egypt is focusing on smart cities, including facilities, whether for offices, residential or sports purposes, in addition to illuminating streets.

     

    Signify also launched Trulifi in Egypt after its global launch earlier this year. Signify has installed more than 100 projects worldwide, showing a growing demand for the technology in offices, the hospitality sector, government institutions and industry. Trulifi combines energy-efficient LED lighting with a reliable, secure and high-speed two-way wireless connection, with speeds of up to 250 Mbps for the downlink and the uplink.

     

     

    "Our participation in this year's Cairo ICT Exhibition is part of the company's continuous interest in increasing investment in the Egyptian market and helping improve the lighting quality in cities with high efficiency and at lower costs. Therefore, we always endeavor to offer the latest products, systems and means that help transform the country's traditional lighting systems to a smarter one,” said Mohamed Abo El Azayem, General Manager Egypt & East Africa at Signify.

     

     “Signify is planning to expand its business in its existing markets and in the trade channels and strengthen its presence in other parts of Africa, where Egypt and East Africa are two important markets,” he added. “Signify is also seeking to achieve growth in its business and investments in the Egyptian market during the fiscal year 2019/2020to support the implementation of targeted business in the coming years.”

     

    Signify has recently completed the lighting installation of the New Administrative Capital, including the administrative buildings and roads. It has also participated in projects in New El Alamein City, including equipping the new headquarters of the Council of Ministers with the latest cutting-edge lighting technologies. It also illuminated five major football stadiums in Egypt as part of the African Cup of Nations 2019 .

     

    As part of its social responsibility, Signify has illuminated The Qalawun Complex, which is located at al-Mu'izz Street in Islamic Cairo. The company used the latest technology to illuminate the outdoor façade including the minaret and the dome and also re-lamped all the indoor area with energy-saving LED lamps. Signify has also upgraded the lighting systems in the Egyptian Museum and in Prince Mohamed Ali Palace in El-Manial.
